Swiss composer Manfred Werder presents in Lima a week of workshops, sound wanderings, and a musical performance, taking place from December 1 to 7, 2025.
The workshop begins on December 1 with an introductory talk and presentation, during which the general dynamic and schedule for the following sessions—held on December 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7—will be defined.
The session on Wednesday, December 3, will consist of a public concert also featuring multimedia artist Martín Baus.
Open to musicians and non-musicians alike, this gathering invites participants to delve into key concepts of Werder’s work—such as The Sounding of the World, The Music of History, and Mutual Inscription—developed by the composer over more than three decades.
The proposal begins from the idea that every artistic practice is a form of relationship with the realities of the world—with its sonic echo and visual dust: a search without objective, where each encounter opens a new space for listening.
Manfred Werder is a composer and performer who wanders through abundance, tracing every possible enunciation in relation to the world.
His recent works, The Inscription of the Sun and The Music of History, continue a practice of reflection and inscription that encompasses both constellations found through the sun and the typewriter, and the public space through dérive.
Among his earlier works is Stück 1998, a 4,000-page score whose intermittent, non-repetitive realization has been carried out since December 1997.
