In the context of Coliflor, Esteban Igartua’s exhibition, Proyecto AMIL is pleased to invite you to Imaginary Processions; a literary journey through the show specially designed by two of the most promising voices of contemporary Peruvian poetry and narrative: Tilsa Otta and Richard Parra.
During the event, Otta and Parra will read texts (both from their own and other writers’ work) in relation to a series of Igartua’s paintings, while inviting the public to move with them across the Proyecto AMIL exhibition spaces. Imaginary Processions will be a stimulating exercise that conceives writing as a tool that, instead of limiting interpretations and meanings, seeks to multiply the possible stories suggested by the artist’s work.

Tilsa Otta (Lima, 1982) has published Mi niña veneno en el jardín de las baladas del recuerdo (2004), Indivisible (2007) (Álbum del universo bakterial editorial) and Antimateria (Ediciones Neutrinos in Argentina, 2014; Editorial Pesopluma in Lima, 2015; and Juan Malasuerte in Mexico, 2016); as well as the book of stories Un ejemplar extraño (Solar, 2012) and the comic book VA (Contexto Editorial, 2017) in co-authorship with Rita Ponce de León. She studied film direction and photography and has produced around 20 audiovisual pieces. She has been awarded by the DAFO (Ministry of Culture of Peru) and Pasaporte para un artista (French Embassy) for her video production. http://www.tilsaotta.com
Richard Parra (Lima, 1976) is the author of the novel The Dead Children (Best novel 2016, Perú21), the short stories collection Contemplation of the Abyss, and the novellas Necrofucker and Lynch. He won the Cope Essay Prize for The Tyranny of the Inca, a book on the political writings of The Inca Garcilaso de la Vega (Best literary criticism essay 2015, Caretas). He co-wrote the screenplay for the Peruvian animation movie Black Head, now in production. He has published his writing in important newspapers and magazines such as: El País (Spain), Vice (Mexico), and El Asombrario (Spain). He has a PhD in Latin American Literature from New York University. He is currently working on his second novel.

En el contexto de Coliflor, la muestra del artista Esteban Igartua, Proyecto AMIL se complace en invitarlo a Procesiones imaginarias; un recorrido literario por la exposición especialmente diseñado por dos de las voces más prometedoras de la poesía y narrativa peruana contemporánea: Tilsa Otta y Richard Parra.
Durante el evento Otta y Parra leerán textos (propios y ajenos) en relación a una serie de pinturas de Igartua mientras invitan al público a desplazarse con ellos por las salas de Proyecto AMIL. Un estimulante ejercicio que concibe la escritura como una herramienta que, en lugar de limitar interpretaciones y significados, busca multiplicar las posibles historias sugeridas por las obras del artista.

Tilsa Otta Vildoso (Lima, 1982) ha publicado los poemarios Mi niña veneno en el jardín de las baladas del recuerdo (2004) e Indivisible (2007) (con la editorial Álbum del universo bakterial) y Antimateria (Ediciones Neutrinos en Argentina, 2014; Editorial Pesopluma en Lima, 2015; Juan Malasuerte en México, 2016); además del libro de cuentos Un ejemplar extraño (Solar, 2012) y el cómic VA (Contexto Editorial, 2017) en co-autoría con Rita Ponce de León. Estudió dirección de cine y fotografía y ha realizado alrededor de 20 piezas audiovisuales. Richard Parra (Lima, 1976) escribió la novela Los niños muertos (novela del 2016, Perú21), el libro de cuentos Contemplación del abismo y el díptico de novelas cortas Necrofucker / La pasión de Enrique Lynch. Obtuvo el premio Copé de ensayo con un libro sobre la prosa política el Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, titulado La tiranía del Inca (ensayo literario del 2015, Caretas). Co-escribió el guion de la película peruana animada Cabeza Negra, actualmente en producción. Ha publicado sus relatos y artículos en medios como El País (España), Vice (México) y El Asombrario (España). Se doctoró en literatura latinoamericana en la Universidad de Nueva York (NYU). Actualmente prepara su segunda novela.
