Proyecto AMIL and the editor Graham Watling are pleased to announce this open call aimed at artists, art students, curators, and writers, as part of the ART WRITING WORKSHOP.
This workshop in two sessions has been conceived as a sounding board for any text in progress, be it artist statement, exhibition description, press release, etc.
During the first meeting, on Monday, October 30, there will be a short presentation on the importance of clarity in writing as well as its possible art world applications, followed by a general discussion in which participants will be able to share and discuss their previous experiences in the field. Participants are encouraged to bring a text in any stage of development to submit to the editor, with the option to also share it with the rest of the participants.
In the interim between the first and second meetings, the editor will be in continuous contact with the writers, providing feedback and suggestions on their texts via email. Time permitting, there will be the chance to translate into English.
At the closing session, on the 9th of November, the texts turned in at the first meeting will be returned, and there will be a discussion of previously examined issues in light of the work done during the workshop.

Graham Watling is an American copy editor living in Barcelona. He holds a bachelors degree in Linguistics and a masters degree in Cognitive Science and Language. He is a musician whose most recent music video came out in January of this year, entitled What you gon’ do, Reservoir Dawgz?

Proyecto AMIL y el editor Graham Watling se complacen en abrir la convocatoria dirigida a estudiantes de arte, artistas, curadores y escritores para formar parte del TALLER DE ESCRITURA PARA ARTE.
Este taller de dos días, se ha concebido como una caja de resonancia para cualquier texto en proceso: ya sea declaración artística, descripción de una muestra, comunicado de prensa, etc.
Durante la primera reunión, el lunes 30 de octubre, habrá una presentación corta sobre la importancia de claridad en la escritura y sus posibles aplicaciones en el ámbito del arte, seguida de un debate general en el que los participantes podrán compartir y discutir sus experiencias previas en el campo. Además, se espera que los participantes traigan un texto en cualquier etapa de desarrollo para entregar al editor, con la opción de intercambiarlo también con los demás participantes.
En el lapso entre la primera y la segunda reunión, el editor estará en continuo contacto con los escritores proporcionando retroinformación y sugerencias sobre sus textos vía email. Si el tiempo es suficiente, se trabajará también en una versión traducida al inglés.
Durante la sesión de cierre, el jueves 9 de noviembre, se devolverán los textos entregados en la primera reunión y se discutirán los temas revisados a la luz de la labor realizada durante el taller.

Graham Watling es un redactor y editor estadounidense que reside en Barcelona. Es licenciado en lingüística y máster en ciencia cognitiva y lenguaje. Watling es músico y su video musical más reciente —What you gon’ do, Reservoir Dawgz? — fue lanzado en enero de este año.
